Journey Overview

A slower coastal route shaped by beaches, stone towns, and Adriatic light.

Across Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, and Albania, the route follows a warmer coastal arc, from Adriatic city stops to slower southern seaside chapters.

It is designed to stay readable rather than rushed, with city walks, sea light, and longer drives placed where they make practical sense.

Hotels, pacing, border flow, and how much leisure time to keep in the program are tailored once your dates and travel style are clear.

Why This Route Works

What makes this multi-day journey feel coherent.

What makes this route work is its lighter Adriatic rhythm: enough movement to keep the journey wide, enough breathing space to let the coast actually feel like the coast.

For Mood

A coastal program with more breathing room.

Neum, Split, Zadar, Dubrovnik, Herceg Novi, Budva, Ulcinj, and Durrës give the route a warmer, more leisure-led rhythm.

For Balance

Beach time plus city stops, without losing the route.

The program mixes shore days and old-town walks so the journey still feels curated instead of becoming only a hotel-hopping beach run.

For Fit

Best for summer-oriented groups and lighter discovery.

It suits guests who want sea light, promenades, and recognizable Adriatic cities with less historical density than the heavier inland circuits.

Day By Day

The full itinerary.

Day 1

Sarajevo

Arrival at Sarajevo International Airport in the evening, meet and assist, transfer to the hotel, check in, and a short first introduction to the city. Dinner and overnight. This opening day keeps the pace soft and welcoming before the coastal route begins.

Day 2

Sarajevo – Neum

In the morning, departure for Neum, Bosnia and Herzegovina’s only town on the sea. Check in at the hotel and enjoy a day for walking and relaxing on the beach. Lunch and dinner are arranged at a restaurant. The day introduces the coast in the calmest possible way, through light, water, and rest.

Day 3

Neum – Split

After breakfast, departure for Split, the largest city in Dalmatia. After check in, guests visit Diocletian’s Palace and walk through the old town, seeing the Peristyle, Piazza Square, the Museum of the City of Split in the Papalić Palace, and the Golden Gate. In the evening, a walk along the waterfront and dinner in a restaurant complete the day.

Day 4

Split – Zadar

In the morning, the route continues to Zadar, one of the oldest continuously inhabited Croatian cities. After check in, guests visit the old town, the Church of Saint Donatus, the famous Sea Organ, and the Salutation to the Sun. The rest of the day is free for the beach and independent exploration. Lunch and dinner are arranged in a restaurant.

Day 5

Zadar – Šibenik – Makarska – Dubrovnik

From Zadar, the journey continues to Šibenik, one of the oldest native Croatian cities on the Adriatic, where guests see beautiful beaches and the Fortress of St Michael. After that, the route heads to Makarska for beach time and enjoyment before continuing to Dubrovnik in the evening. Check in, walk along the waterfront, dinner, and overnight.

Day 6

Dubrovnik – Herceg Novi

The day begins with a Dubrovnik city tour including Pile Gate, the Great Onofrio Fountain, Sponza Palace, and Gundulic Square. After lunch, the journey continues to Herceg Novi in Montenegro. Check in, visit the old town, enjoy beach time, and dinner in the old town. The route offers a refined transition from Croatian grandeur to Montenegrin seaside charm.

Day 7

Herceg Novi – Kotor – Budva

In Kotor, guests visit the old town and enjoy lunch before continuing to Budva. There is free time to enjoy the Budva Riviera, followed by a visit to the old town, a hidden beach reached through the old town, and a walk along the walls. Dinner in the old town and overnight in Budva. This is one of the most picturesque coastal days of the tour.

Day 8

Budva – Ulcinj – Durrës

The route continues via Ulcinj, where guests walk, have lunch, and see the beaches, before heading onward to Durrës in Albania. In Durrës, the tour includes the ancient amphitheater and Durrës Castle. Check in, dinner, and overnight. The day blends beach atmosphere with archaeological and urban heritage.

Day 9

Durrës

A free day to explore Durrës and enjoy the beaches. Lunch and dinner are planned in restaurants. This pause gives the itinerary breathing space and allows guests to enjoy the destination in a slower, more personal way.

Day 10

Durrës – Sarajevo

Early morning departure back to Sarajevo. On the way, there is a stop in Shëngjin for lunch before arrival in Sarajevo in the evening. Check in, dinner, and overnight. This final overland stretch closes the coastal story with one last long travel day through the wider region.

Day 11

Departure

Breakfast, check out, transfer to the airport, and departure. The journey ends with a rich collection of sea views, old towns, beaches, and coast to coast Balkan memories.

FAQ

Common questions before a multi-day enquiry.

Is this journey private?

Yes. This template is positioned as a private multi-day journey. Final delivery can be adapted around your dates, accommodation style, pace, and group size before confirmation.

Can the route or overnight pattern be adjusted?

Yes. The published structure is the clearest starting point, but overnight cities, emphasis, and pacing can be refined when preparing the final proposal.

Are entrance fees included?

Entrance fees are quoted separately unless a final proposal explicitly includes them. The source planning document marked fee figures as indicative only, so the confirmed version is always shared directly before booking.

How should I think about border waiting times and longer drives?

On a regional overland route, waiting times can shift with season and local conditions. That is why the page shows route notes clearly instead of hiding them behind marketing copy.

What happens after I send an enquiry?

Blossom Tours replies with the next practical step: availability, hotel logic, transfer approach, and a tailored EUR quote that matches your group rather than a one-size-fits-all price.
